A FIVE PARAGRAPH ESSAY

          If it weren’t for this guy, are skateboards wouldn’t leave the ground! I admire Rodney Mullen because he was the first one to do tricks in a competition, he invented most of the basics and he invented “Tech Tricks”.

          Rodney Mullen did a lot of things and here’s how he changed competition. One trick he did was the kickflip, which is the most essential flip trick. Another trick he did was the Casper slide, which started “Tech Tricks”. The 360˚ Flip is what really made them want to do tricks. If you want to know what these tricks are keep reading.

          Rodney started doing these when he was a teenager. The Ollie is when you pop the board off the ground. The kickflip is when the board does a complete flip coming towards you. Then, the 360˚ Flip is when the board spins 360˚ and does a kickflip all at once. He has invented 54 tricks and is still going.

          Here is another style of tricks that he made up. “Tech Tricks” are tricks that go on two, one, or no wheels. The most essential of these tricks, the manual, which is when you ride while you have the two front or back wheels off the ground. The Casper slide is basically an upside down manual. The primo is when you ride on the side of the board.

          For creating “Tech Tricks”, flip tricks and the doing them in competitions is a great reason to admire Rodney Mullen. I’ve told you about his competitions, his tricks and his “Tech Tricks” but does this make you admire him. Just remember if it weren’t for this guy skateboards wouldn’t leave the ground!

My interview with Boots Raymond

Q. Describe yourself for us.

A. My name is Boots Raymond and I am a tall kid (taller than my best friends by four inches). I wanted to play quarterback for the Apollos because I am a natural at the position. I was put on tackle though, after I didn’t get the position. I am also good in school too.

Q. Did you like being tackle at first?

A. No, I was actually about to quit until my brother from the army sent me a letter and it motivated me to become a good tackle.

Q. How did your attitude change throughout the season?

A. I think it changed greatly throughout the season. I thought my position in football would be as quarterback, but my position is at tackle.

Q. Were you jealous at the fact that you did not get Q.B.?

A. Yea, I was at first but after I realized how fun tackle was I decided that it was the best position that I could play to help the team.

Q. How did your team do overall?

A. We won the conference championships and barely got away with the last game when we won it 20-13.

Q. What do you think your most earned win was?

A. I think it was a tie between versing the Starbirds and versing the Argonauts because they were the two hardest teams we versed.

Q. Who is your best friend on the team?

A. My best friend on the team is Duck. He is because he always gets me syked for the games.

Q. where do you want to go with football?

A. I want to go to the NFL and play tackle for the state team.

Q. What did you like least?

A. I didn’t like being 2^nd string because I didn’t get to play as much until the end when they realized I was pretty good.

Q. What was your biggest accomplishment in football this year?

A. It has to be when I tackled the ball carrier so hard he fumbled it. Then, I ran it back 50 plus yards for a touchdown.

Q. Do you think you will be getting more interviews like this in your future?

A. Ha-ha, ummmmmmm… I think so because I really like football and think I can exceed in it.

        So today we went over the past year of Boots Raymond. We went over some of the Apollo’s season. I think we’ve token enough of Boot’s time. I will return with Duck’s Q and A next time on my show, Kenny’s Kwestions.

MY ROANOKE THEORY

        My hypothesis for how Roanoke vanished is that the Croatoan Indians crops were starting to go bad from climate change and they started to eat the settler’s food. Then they began to go to war. The Indians must have started shooting flaming arrows and burnt down the Jamestown fort. Eventually, the Indians won and took there land and marked it with CROATOAN written on a tree and then went somewhere else so they wouldn’t be harmed again.

        One important reason is that there were no people. Some people may think that they all died from the diseased mosquitoes or from starvation. I think they died from the mosquitoes because they wouldn’t die of starvation if they ate the dead people’s bodies and then if they did they would get sick and die anyway. I do think some people starved though, but all we know is that they vanished.

        Another reason is that the whole settlement was burned down. For this clue, I think that there was a war between the Indians and the settlers had war against each other. I think during this was they ran out of ammo and gun powder so the Indians burned down the settlement. After this, I think they left for another part of the new land.

        My final reason is that they carved “CROATOAN” in a tree. I think the Croatoan Indians did this to mark there victory of the war they had. I also think that they wanted to know not to destroy any of their stuff anymore and to not take their food, and to mark their territory. Then, they probably left so the Englishmen don’t find them and do what they have done again.

The clues match my theory because there weren’t any people because they were either killed or Indians who moved away. The explanation for the burnt down settlement is for flaming arrows. And they carved CROATOAN to mark there territory.
